Everything always comes from love,
In love with the lands and the forests of the Châtillonnais, Charles Cavin discovers wine with the beginning of a love story, one he lives with his wife Anne-Marie Jayer. It is alongside Robert Jayer, his father-in-law and cousin of the noted Henri Jayer (the “Master of the Pinot Noir”, which we still talk about today with an immense nostalgia), that Charles discovers and intensifies his passion for wine.
Similarly, it is the happy marriage of vine and wood which gives birth to the greatest wines. And Charles decided to dedicate his life to it. After a few decades of experimentation, from stavewood to directing a cooperage in Grenoble, he founded the Tonnellerie Cavin, in the heart of his native region, Burgundy. It is from the forests of the Châtillonnais (84,000 hectares) that he comes from, and it is where he chose the wood of his most upscale barrels.
Pierre and Henri replaced their father, after viticultural studies in Beaune, and a few years of experience in the heart of the family business. Pierre Cavin, who has a background in oenology, is now the head of the cooperage, after Henri left for personal projects. He is now extremely determined to develop this great company, which, just like him, has a life ahead, alongside a dedicated team.
