Everything always comes from love,
Loving the land and the forests of the Châtillonnais, Charles Cavin discovered wine through a story of love—his marriage to Anne-Marie Jayer. Alongside her and her father Robert Jayer, cousin to the renowned Henri Jayer, the "Master of Pinot Noir," Charles developed a deep passion for wine and the art of aging.
Just as the harmonious union of vine and wood gives rise to the finest wines, Charles decided to dedicate his life to this balance. After decades of experience, from managing a stave mill to directing a cooperage in Grenoble, he founded Tonnellerie Cavin in the heart of his native region, Burgundy. Drawing from the 84,000 hectares of the Châtillonnais forest, he selects the finest oak to create barrels that embody excellence.
Today, Pierre Cavin, Charles's son and trained oenologist, leads the cooperage with passion and ambition. Following his viticulture studies in Beaune and several years of experience within the family business, Pierre has committed himself to carrying on the family legacy while modernizing the company. Supported by dedicated and passionate teams, he is resolutely focused on the future, ready to write the next chapters of this beautiful story, always in service of the finest wines.
